Aid Ally – Accessibility for Humanitarian Aid
Role: Product Strategist & U/UX | Team of 4 (Design, Biomed, Product, AR)
Partner: Field Ready, a global disaster relief NGO
Aid Ally is a low-tech crisis management solution to improve disaster response in low-resource settings by providing hands-free, visual assembly instructions for essential medical devices made from locally sourced materials. Focused on orthopedic recovery post-disasters, we developed 3D-printable, modular crutch prototypes and an AR interface to guide assembly - bridging literacy, internet access, and logistical barriers.
Key Outcomes:
Developed Unity-based AR app for object recognition and offline usage
Designed and tested low-cost, locally manufacturable hands-free crutches
Enabled 48% faster deployment vs traditional aid methods
Achieved 75% cost savings on medical device delivery through local manufacturing
This project reimagines humanitarian logistics by blending local empowerment with immersive tech to deliver rapid, scalable aid solutions.
